Um. Russia is vast, has the population the size of both France and Germany together, but has an economy the size of the state of texas, and survives on resource sales because it has lost nearly all scientific technological and industrial production. Russia isn’t rich. It’s poor and outside of moscow and st petersburg it’s falling apart. There are still an absurd number of people who still lack indoor plumbing and toilets, and have outhouses.
