I can only comment on india abstractly as a system. I can’t comment on the experience of it.

That said the emergence of a middle class and the imitation of the middle class by those that aspire to it, is a necessary property of development that will emerge whenever rule of law is sufficient for it to emerge.

India has an IQ issue but it SHOULD be able to continue to mature even if it will always be difficult to produce equality in those conditions.
