I have decided that today is a Gentleman Jack Day. That basically means it’s a vacation day. I finished court. Everyone else thinks they got what they wanted. They don’t realize I did. And I’m thrilled at consequence. Why? I don’t particularly care any longer what the outcome is, I care only about having achieved what I have in the interim. 😉 And what opportunities it produces for the future. 😉

Now, please understand that I am a lightweight, only drink on occasion, and a ‘double’ is a lot for me. So this is an ‘occasion’. And doubles are … a lot for me. 😉

One thing I will say is that I love lawyers who are smart enough to negotiate. 😉 Negotiation is ALWAYS preferable to letting the court decide – it’s a random number generator. And courts always seek a solution that is equally unsatisfactory for all parties.

This is why the american court system forces so much mediation, and why most of us, at every opportunity, seek, pursue, and negotiate in mediation. 😉
