Please don’t take my words as criticism. I’m an advocate for india and always have been. I’m merely making a cultural observation about the “WIERD=ness” of western civ – which is a topic that is meaningful in the west at present, because it is difficult for westerners to comprehend just how different we are from the rest of the world, and how different we always have been. In other words, globalism in the sense of free trade has been beneficial to man, and human rights have been as well, but otherwise our ‘weird-ness” means we cannot spread our ways to others and it’s not clear we should be as lackadaisical with ourselves in some of those ways.
