LIRA WAS A BAD PERSON WHO RECIEVED WHAT HE WAS DUE
Lira was not a good person by any stretch of the imagination. Though I feel sympathy for his ex wife, his now widowed wife (his and his ex-wife’s nanny) and their children, that said, an as an expat living on foreigh soil (he’s Chilean), one would have to be profoundly arrogant and foolish to propagandize in favor of the enemy in a country at war for its very existence – especially after being warned.

And then even more so, after being imprisoned, and then to recieve leniency so one can leave prison, and then to and seek to flee the country by illegal means – especially when you propagandize in favor of the Russians who have historically brutalized the Ukrainians with regularity including a previous attempted agrarian genocide – in addition to the current attempted civilcide and genocide – invade the territory with ‘little green men’ and deny it.

Russian and Ukrainian prisons are absolutely horrific and brutal places, and eastern culture is closer to asian in respect for human life than our own.

As an american, even as a Chilean-American you have to severely cross the line legally, politically, and militarily to get into trouble, and especially to be detained and thrown into prison. I have lived in Ukraine for years, and I am well aware that the government treats americans as a very special case, with very kid gloves, that requires senior (political) approval of any action upon them. I am one of those who the state took an interest in for a brief time, and this was expressed to me in person in multiple meetings at increasing levels, just as my peers were ‘invited’ by the US Embassy to ensure we did not ourselves endanger US interests there. Thankfully my motives were rather obvious and in the people and state’s interest. And I should note that I have had the same ‘visitations’ from the FBI here in the states. So for someone to be acted against in ukraine is far more difficult than say, showing up at a january rally and getting sentenced to years in prison for it.
Conversely, Lira was a selfish, arrogant, and seditious malcontent selling clicks for attention status and revenue to compensate for his failings in hollywood, finance, and elsewhere.

And, Yes I am aware that I will recieve criticism for this -especially when we shouldn’t speak ill of the dead – but I did know the man and had a decent relationship with him for a few years if only by phone – until I didn’t. And he acted rather as a borderline personality at the time.
So, do not lionize the wicked. It is counter productive. No matter your mission – in this case ending our support for UA – dancing with the devil only taints you and has no effect on him. And while Tucker is building an audience, and an audience that does require leadership that speaks in their voice to their intuitions and morals, this subject matter only increases the demonization of that faction so that they are a faction that CAN BE VOTED AGAINST.
