Men die earlier because (a) we have Y chromosomes with lower capacity to repair (b) we accumulate more cellular damage on behalf of women, children, and the polity, (c) we lack estrogen and have much higher risk of heart disease, (d) and we are larger that puts more stress on the body. (e) we do far more risking things that subject us to more harms. So, while slightly more boys are born than girls, by the age of 65 there are 57% more women than men, and of those men remaining they have accumulated more celluar damage than women.
