Yes. Dr Taraban (@OrionTaraban) is contributing to the field and more so than any other person I’ve found.
I should have contacted him for an interview when he first started – I assume it’s more difficult to do so now that he’s achieving the fame he correctly predicted when he set out to contribute to the public discourse.
I’d like to talk to him about this subject in particular, which is the asymmetric content of pyschology, therapy, and psychiatry, and how to better serve men. Which is a social good and a moral ambition.
But the more intellectually important reason I’d like to see him continue to expand in influence, is to restore symmetry to the field – because all humand differences in bias are the result of sex differences – at least primarily. The rest of the biases only compound those differences.
So, promoting him and his work is not only a moral, social, political and intellectual good, but relieves me and our organization of some of the burden of explaining these differences, legitimizing them once again, creating a social proof by an explanatory narrative, and adapting government and policy accordingly.
As you know, my concern is that if we don’t do this constructively the pendulum will over-reach again, or we will simply continue to decline as a polity, even as a civilization if we do not end the false promises of the behavioral equality of human beings – even in the same polity.
Cheers
