So is russia. You may not know this but the demographic distribution in RU means that they have only about 1M men to draw from without consequence.

RU will stay as long as they think the west will get tired of the conflict in ukraine. However, the public opinion is somewhat irrelevant because the geostrategic consequences of tolerating russian aggression against european countries is not something that any administration can overlook. As such the admin and the military are still of the opinion that they are wearing down RU and RU’s production capacity and so it’s just a waiting game. If trump is elected, (“I will stop the killing”) he will threaten RU but he may force a compromise that doesn’t impact UA’s abiilty to operate in the black sea port system. This is probably sufficient given that the territory RU desires is now wasteland.
