1) isolation events in the presence of available resources (meat, physical adaptability) as man spread into new territories.
2) living cooperatively in close proximity in the cold creating selection pressure in favor of neoteny (social adaptability)
3) Utility of intelligence (cognitive adaptability) in an environment of climatological stress AND resource availability.
