I should comment here on Vattel and the law of nations in the context of Smith (sentiments, nations), Blackstone (domestic, common law) and vattel (international, empirical, and therefore ‘natural’). BTW: Vattel was not original, but translating another authors work with commentary. And to demonstrate that spectrum of the natural law of cooperation as necessary.
What troubles me is that with Bentham opening the door and Rez, Kelsen, Hart, Dworkin and Rawls marching through it with their reversal of natural law and restoration of positivism (authoritarianism) under theh presumption that the scientific revolution had produced men of greater competency in social matters than they could demonstrate, as if their achievements in physical matters were commutative.
