Spent some time with a sr exec at a major manufacturer the other day (making random conversations while waiting for car repairs – thankfully the shop serves coffee). They are having a nightmare with their Juarez plant and getting trucks across the border – nobody trusts anybody so the’re checked over and over again.

The one reason they liked the mexicans is that they will actually work for a living without complaining. The biz offers them medical, cafeteria, and good pay and other benefits i thought were so strange I’ve forgotten them.

The exec’s complaint is that americans are lazy, want to do the minimum work, complain about everything, don’t pay attention, make too many mistakes, and are ungrateful for the work.

I dunno. I’ve been a CEO for almost all of my adult life and I would have a very hard time with the young generation. I guess they get to be the folks who get the painful awakening when this correction finally does its work.
