Take the car in for an overdue oil change. Mention there is a noise coming from the front end on acceleration, slowdown, and turning. (Should have been obvious). Wheel bearings on the driver’s side. (Car is from Minnesota (winters)). So the $100 oil change ends up increasing to $1300 in bearing changes) I used to do this nonsense myself and with no small amount of enthusiasm. Not so much any longer. 😉
