Well officially it’s 80. Most of the Iranic peoples are over 80. I would expect Iran should be 83-84. It would be interesting to separate the ethinc persian from the persian-arab population but I can’t find any numbers on that. Yemen is 64, Saudi is 76, Syria is 74, Oman is 78. Turkey is 86. (Iraq is odd at 89, and I don’t know why.)
So either all the smart people fled iran as the smart people fled places like ukraine, Ireland, and Lebanon, or the arabized population is much larger than the persian, or something else is alterning the numbers. If we had really good data on ethnic persians I would expect it to be closer to 90 than 80.
