Brad tells a parable from Judges 7:

~”Of the ten thousand, most kneeled and drank from the water. Only three hundred drank by cupping the water in one hand, while holding their weapon at the ready in the other. This is how the lord sorted those most ready for war from those who may run or fall.”~ (paraphrasing)

Of all our men only 2M are required.
And of them only 300 to defeat the enemy.
And in defeating the enemy save ourselves, our posterity and mankind.
