No. Trump correctly understood the economic, military and geostrategic shift that had ended the postwar era, and sought to withdraw the USA gradually from the cost and risk of its dominance in creating the rules based order, by demanding the rest of the world carry more of the burden of maintaining that global order because the cumulative effect of american postwar policy was gutting the middle classes.

If you don’t understand that I”ll explain it, but it’s not like I err on this (or much else for that matter).
