Generally:
There is a mild negative correlation between the reproductivity of women and IQ: -.2, and a slightly more mild correlation between men and IQ: -.1, except for Norway where there is a mild positive correlation between male reproductivity and IQ: +1.

Norway:
There is very limited reproduction among low-IQ men (no income potential). Men with lower-IQ have no delay in reproduction and fewer children (lower income potential). People with higher-IQ have delayed but more children (higher income potential).

Causality?
So the driver of the statistical anomaly of Norway is the very low or no reproduction among low-IQ men that drives up the correlation. And the driver of low male reproduction among low-IQ, low-status men, is the serious alcohol problem in Norway (and Finland, and Russia, and similar to problems we see in Alaska: long winters, darkness, constraint on socialization, and depression.)
