Ricardo didnt state that unambiguously. 😉 He means that in the postwar revolt against darwin, in the corporation, in classical liberalism, in our federations, moarchies, and empires, in the christian ethic, in aristocratic egalitarianism (open natural aristocracy of merit), and in our high trust (universal militia), we have so surpressed our tribalism in favor of merit that it is logical to presume a blank slate – at least abstractly – and logical that the left would exploit that premise just as the exploit our high trust.
