I dunno. There are wanna-be race car drivers out there who buy a car with potential they rarely use on the tracks, and larpers who never use that potential even on the tracks.
I had a 911 Turbo X50, and while porsche quality is unmistakable in every possible way it was not enjoyable to drive. My Ferrari 355 was a bit fragile and shop-friendly, but the most graceful experience that I always found a luxury. Gor daily driving my BoxsterX, lowered, with special wheels and exhaust was about the best experience overall. That said I remain a Jaguar devotee and have been most of my life.
So I think if you can afford exotics you’re expressing your aesthetics both in values, identity, and status.
