He’s stating that india was never a friend or ally, it was just in her interest at the moment when we were facilitating free trade and the transcendence of lesser developed peoples into industrial technological and rule of law societies ending the age of empires.

So given india will not assist us geostrategically in preserving that order, and given that india is capable of domestic production and consumption for relative independence from that order, the only alliance or assistance we should expect from india is with china, who is perpetual threat to india right next door. even then, India will only allow us to assist them, they won’t assist us.

Ergo india will drop off the favored nation status because (like france) she is self interested to the point of harming alliances, and like france is sufficiently autarkic not to need them.

And Modi is a populist but a grifter with a long history of corruption, playing the religous identity card, so he is assisting in driving this process.

In general, the world we spent blood and treasure to build is coming apart because we were not brutal enough in completing the second world war by eradicating communism in russia and china, and by ending colonialism we caused the europeans to create states from their empires that did not reflect the requirements to facilitate the formation of enthostates with less internal conflict,and more prone to federations.

And war with Mexico is going to happen. 😉 Possibly because their president is agitating in favor of it, while the american people are increasingly demanding it, in part because china is facilitating it.
