MODI VISIT AND RELATIONS WITH INDIA (IN DECLINE)
~~”India isn’t a country, it’s more like the Holy Roman Empire…where there is technically a central government, but almost all decisions that matter are made at the state and local level. And so while Modi is nominally the leader, he is only the most powerful of several dozens of personalities across the indian system who have decision making power. So the capacity of india to act like a state like other states, is very weak. And India looks out for it’s own best interests [more so than anyone else]. So, India can never be family, an ally, or a friend. [And visa versa.] … But they are capable of running an economy that is globally significant, without being one that is globally wired. … “~~ @PeterZeihan
While strategically challenging it’s as valuable to india as it was to the core of europe: The Holy Roman Empire. On the other hand this is an explicity statement that despite the use of the english language, and history as a british colony, India is not extended family like Japan and Korea, and relations over time will continue to cool and eventually turn hostile – and this will have an effect on Indian Americans just as it has on Russian Americans.
