However, once europe created the age of sail and united world trade the overland route and silk road became dead weight and middle eastern wealth evaporated. So the conquest of european byzantium brought an end to not only the turks but all of the middle east. Why? Culture of ignorancde, tribalism, low trust, wasn’t able to modernize. (still can’t)
