The austirans are part of the german academic system were divided by the Christians vs the Jews. For the Christians they were trying to do economic science as the study of human behavior, not discover means of economic manipulation through policy.
The jews tried to use the chrsitian discovery of economic science to justify jewish ethics and morality which like female morality is quite selfish and externalizes costs.
The Freshwater school. (Chicago) tries to insure the policy against risk and malincentives.
The Saltwater school ( mainstream) tries to maximize employment, consumption, tax revenue and redistribution by maximizing tolerable interference in the economy.
Science > Insurance > Manipulation.
