Just to tease you folks on Election Day: the genetics show that self-identifying Turks in Turkey are almost exclusively of Archaic Anatolian, Hittite, Armenian, and Greek extraction. Only a few drops of central and east Asian genetics exist. And the reason their ancestors converted to Islam was to lower taxes. It wasn’t support for the religion or admiration of Turkish culture or turkic genetics. So Turks take pride in genetics they don’t have, a culture that isn’t theirs, a religion that isn’t theirs and that they adopted to avoid paying taxes, in a territory they took from Europeans, but themselves left no works, achievements, or monuments otherwise.

None of us is without delusion or sin. 😉
