AMPLIFYING LINDSAY:
Lindsay’s doing a spectacular job of getting the message out using the same method of ‘critique’ the enemy has used to undermine our civilization.
I think one of the logical bits he’s missing that would help his arguments, is that the history of classical liberalism going back to the greeks (and really back to the steppe), is the use of classical liberal institutions to produce responsibility in exchange for self determination.
In other words, european ‘aristocratic egalitarianism’ through most of european institutional history grants freedom first and influence second, in exchange for demonstrated responsibility for the contribution to the commons, and NOT engaging in irresponsibility.
This is because the west defeats the rest by outpacing the rest in the bronze, iron, and steel ages, by the production of commons, and especially the commons of trust, by truth before face, reciprocity before self, and duty before self, and commons first.
– Truth(reciprocity in display word and deed for the benefit of the commons),
– Duty(responsibility to the commons),
– Excellence(contribution to the commons, especially novel contribution of competitive advantage to the commons)
– Beauty (contribution to the commons especially in aesthetic contribution to the competitive advantage ofthe commons)
So James is using religious, philosophical, and moral language which is more accessible to the masses than universal language of the science of human behavior: economics(positive) and law(negative).
What we learn from James’ success in communication is that we have failed to educate the citizenry (population) in the science of behavior.
And that’s partly because it’s useful for the left via the education system to NOT teach geography, history, comparative civilization, the common concurrent natural law of cooperation, and the reducibility of all human behavior to economic terms.
