Q: “Curt: –What do you mean by “class” as in “the success at selection (differences in class sizes)”?–

Ugh, Didn’t complete answering your question.
1) As man spread out from east Africa, we see four speciation events, that resulted in ‘subspecies’ (races) adapting to local environments. Speciation requires isolation events. They were east Africa, the dry Persian gulf, the Tibetan plateau?, the European plain, and the Ob river region(?) of northern (polar) Russia. In about that order.

2) the direction of all human evolution appears to have been for endurance running(hunting) by heat dissipation, and sacrificing of digestion for higher quality (denser) foods, and then for neoteny to lower aggression and increase patience, agency, and cooperation (think time).

3) While neoteny is physically obvious and east asians the most neotenous, there is a correlation between coloring (returning to having white skin) to absorb Vitamin D, and preventing birth defects due to lack of related natal molecules, and temperament due to living in cold climates in close quarters, and higher isolation and selection pressure in those conditions.

4) The result is the rather (huge) difference between the African subraces(60-70), the south Eurasian (low 80s), the hybrid peoples (low 90s), and the Europeans and east Asians (low 100s).

5) IQ is a rough approximation of Neoteny. Though it also appears there are upper limits to our biological ability to increase neural density, size of cranium, rate, and depth of maturity, given our caloric capacity and the high cost of the brain vs all other organs.

6) Societies MUST develop metaphysics, myths, rituals, traditions, norms, values, and institutions that reflect the median of the distribution of the population. And they all do.

SO: Success at selection means “capacity for isolation, speciation, and neotenization events that cause domestication syndrome, and the resulting institutional formation necessary for the group”.

IOW don’t hold out too much hope for those countries that haven’t had the benefit of colonization to rapidly change, escape poverty, and despotic government. AND worse, expect if the US ends (continues to end) the postwar construction of world free trade, that the despotic governments will continue to exploit people who are not productive enough to compete or even survive (not starve) in a world without free trade.
