OK. I’ve been having fun defending Scott Adams and learning from it. And (OMG there are thousands of comments), it’s the usual emotional vs empirical nonsense.

IRONY: I’ve said in the past that Scott is interesting to me because he relies on suggestion and argument by elimination using suggestion. Where I work in the suppression of suggestion and demand for truthful transparent, unambiguous argument. So… this whole thing occurred, because Scott used a hyperbolic argument as a means of suggestion, to test our intuitions. So, you know, he gets hammered for people who MISUNDERSTAND and I get hammered by people who CAN’T UNDERSTAND, what I’m doing. And… So what does that mean? The terminal dumbitude is exhausting and impossible to overcome on either side of the fence.

Sigh. 😉
