The form of cognition and resulting biases, desires, and culture in a given group leads individuals to fish for justifications wherever they can find them and it just so happens that the ambiguity of German philosophy and false promises of French philosophy was useful to them.

However, the group using those philosophies in innovative ways is neither German nor French – and if they hadn’t found justifications there, they’d find them elsewhere or make up their own.

And so while it’s useful to understand the problems with those philosophies, you’re not going to argue anyone out of their intuition.

The only solution is to start harshly punishing the use of the whole category of argumentation justifying parasitism.”–
