INSTABLOCK BUTTON?
I wonder if we can petition Twitter will add an [Instablock] button. 😉
So FWIW: the algorithm punishes you for an asymmetry between blocks and follows. And I block a lot of the mentally unfit or ill.
Instead of following, I add people to Twitter lists but I don’t follow many people. Largely because if I follow them there is seemingly no chance they’ll end up in my feed.
So lists are sort of necessary just to ensure you don’t miss those choice bits that aren’t popular. 😉
