ANXIETY OVER BEING BOTS?
Humans behavior is predictable? ….hmmm.
1) I would say Explicable, in that all human behavior is rationally explainable.
2) Deterministic in that sex, ability, and personality traits both produce deterministic biases, and cluster into ‘stereotypes’.
3) Predictable, in the *categorical* sense, that people TEND to behave according to the above.
4) Bots, in that we have free will to choose morally or immorally, but that we may be biased to choose one or the other, and justify it as good rather than just a bias.
5) But predictable in the sense that their behavior is not determinable (hard determinism), but only deterministic (very soft determinism), and then only regarding those things they have little personal knowedlge and control over.
6) Yes this knowledge has made me … anxious as you have said. Because I (we all) want to believe we have more rational agency than we demonstrate that we do – or are even capable of. And so, NOT being a bot requires a lot more work than we thought it would. 😉
