If you don’t see where I’m heading, it’s that it’s entirely possible to marry a single mother with kids, if you write down (meaning set boundaries) a contract for behavior so that the man isn’t expecting more than is possible nor is the woman. Serial monogamy is the human norm.

The reason you can’t reliably develop a relationship with, or marry single mothers, is that you can never enter the exchange of putting one another – and your relationship – first. Although if both you have children, that possibility increases. Single mom authoritarianism blocks.
